JD Belk
Hello! My name is J.D. Belk, and I am running to be an NDGA Director at Large. I have served at this position since October 2021 when I stepped in to complete the term of someone who could no longer serve. I am a retired law enforcement officer and my wife, Lori and I live in Huntersville, NC. We have only been collecting Depression Glass since 2017 when we moved to Marietta, GA. We bought a uranium dresser set at a Friday night auction and became hooked on both attending auctions and collecting this unusual glass. We started learning about the glass from books and very quickly joined the Peach State Depression Glass Club where our interest really picked up from the encouragement of the wonderful members of that club.
We have narrowed our collecting efforts to concentrate on uranium glass and have a house that glows like the sun when you shine a blacklight. I have conducted a seminar on uranium glass at the Peach State Depression Glass Club Glass Show & Sale, given starter pieces to our children, friends and relatives, and would like to continue to teach and share my knowledge of this unusual glass. I am running for this office because I would like to serve an entire term in this position. I believe there are many things I can contribute to the NDGA as well as many things I can learn. I look forward to contributing and sharing my fascination with glass with you all.
