Dean Lowry
My name is Dean Lowry, and I am running to be a Member
at Large of the Board of Directors
for The National Depression
Glass Association. My collection
of glass was inspired by my
grandparents, Hubert and Barbara
Kelly. I spent quite a few days
traveling around Indiana to flea
markets in the 1970s while they
looked for glass. I was fortunate
enough to be able to acquire a collection of Federal's
Madrid pattern that had belonged to one of my great-great-grandmothers in the late 1980s. I still collect Madrid and
will be conducting a seminar on it at this year's convention.
Being a native Hoosier and a history enthusiast, I began
collecting glassware that was made in Indiana. I have an
extensive collection and have presented seminars on it for
various clubs. I have been a member of NDGA since the
late 1990s and became regularly active in the club in 2006.
I have served as the editor of the newsletter and as the
Membership Chairperson. I have actively participated as a
volunteer for the last 9 conventions. I oversee the club's
Facebook group, the Instagram account, and the YouTube
channel. I am currently a member of the following clubs:
The Early American Pattern Glass Society, The National
Greentown Glass Association, The Fostoria Glass Society
of America, and The Fostoria Glass Society of Tennessee. I
look forward to continuing my involvement with the club.
