Candleholder Challenge 2006

The Candleholder Challenge

Background: At the 2006 Convention in Waxahachie, Texas, member/dealer Jack Peacock issued a "challenge" to all members of the NDGA: Look around for those "single candlesticks" that don't have a mate, and donate them to the National Glass Collection. In backing up his challenge, Jack immediately donated the candlesticks shown at left (60 of them!). Since then, he has been faithfully adding to the collection as he runs into unmatched candlesticks.

Do you have any single candlesticks that you be willing to donate?

Current Listing: The current listing of candlesticks in the Candleholder Challenge section of the National Glass Collection numbers approximately 300, and more come in each month. The listing is in PDF® format.

Donations: If you'd like to do so, your donations may be made directly to the Acquisition Committee. In addition, all NDGA officers and members of the Board of Directors will aid in these efforts. To contact the Acquisition Committee Chairperson or a Board Member, visit our NDGA Information page.

Alternatively, you can print out the form for donations (in PDF® format) to send along with your items, and a member of the Acquisitions Committee will return a signed copy which you may be able to use for tax purposes (consult your tax professional). Please indicate on the form: "NDGA Candlestick Challenge."
