Cheryl Parsons

My name is Cheryl Parsons. My husband, John, and I live in Columbia, MO. We are originally from Mexico, MO where we raised a son, Jake, and a daughter, Lindsay. We now have a six-month-old grandson, Everett.

I became interested in depression glass when I was in my early 30's. My husband and I have attended glass shows, visited antique malls, and participated in auctions throughout the years. After purchasing various depression glass pieces, I decided to focus my attention on one pattern. I chose Adam because of the number of pieces that I had in stock and, also, the value that Adam seemed to have at the time. After completing this glass pattern, I started collecting Miss America, Cherry Blossom, and Katy.

My husband purchased two boxes of Jadeite with a low bid at an auction one year. His plan was to sell it and make some money, but this story ended sadly for him. I took an interest in the Fire King Jane Ray dishes. (My mother's maiden name was Jayne Ray.). We also have several of the Jadeite Aladdin lamps to go along with this color theme. They really make a nice display together.

And last, I've recently gotten interested in the Pyrex 401 bowls. Pyrex bowls are just fun to collect.

I have several other organizations that I am involved in: National Association of Aladdin Lamp Collectors (NAALC) and the Heart of America (HOA)Cookie Cutter Collector Club (CCCC). Clubs give you the opportunity to get educated, to meet new people, and to see different areas of the country.
